I love my job!!

I really do (and thank goodness since I am up at 12:30am posting to my blog!). But I just feel so blessed to be able to do this as a career...I get tremendous joy from it.  You know that feeling that you used to get when you went on vacation and couldn't wait to take your role of film to be developed and how excited you were to see them?  I feel that way after every session and it isn't even my family in the photos.  And I get tremendous joy from how happy the portraits make my clients...it is a very rewarding career.

Meet Whitney....we had a great session. They have a great place outside of Rockwall, and we shot there, but started out around town.  At one point, we had keys locked in their car, and they couldn't get in to where all of her clothes were! Thank goodness for Onstar...it's programmed into my phone!

Part of the fun of my job is seeing all of the great clothes and jewelry and also in this case...BOOTs that they bring.  I kept telling her that I wanted her boots.  She brought 2 great pair!

I am in LOVE, love, love with the truck that is on their property.  We have one almost exactly like it on our land, but that is a couple of hours away - so not very useful to me!

Let me know what you think of these few...

Plano Senior

We met in McKinney to shoot this Plano senior.  McKinney always has interesting texture.  I love the one with her in the multi colored shirt with the multi colored background.  I love all the ones with great color though.

Stephanie

I feel bad that I am behind on the blog....but am happy that I am keeping up with the really important stuff...the editing, orders, etc.  I love my job but sometimes wish I could morph into 2 or 3 people during the really busy times.

This is Stephanie, beautiful girl who is just as beautiful in her "sweet, serious" mood as she is with a great smile. Her is a sample of some of her images.

So behind on my blog!

Sorry guys....if you are looking for your sneak peek....it's on it's way, I promise.

This is an Ursuline senior and we went to McKinney for the session....I had shot her older sister as a senior there just last year.  Does she have a great smile or what?  It just explodes like a Julia Roberts kind of smile.

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek...there are plenty of other great ones!

Rowlett Senior

This is Jordan, who made it very easy for me to like her.....she has chosen Texas Tech!! She will have such a great time ...she may even be trying out for cheerleader there.  Even with short hair, we had wind issues and had to get creative again with our locations.  This wind is really about to get on my last nerve! I am ready for some calm, beautiful afternoons.  Here are some of my favorites so far...

Rachael

Rachael loves theater and has done quite a bit of work....in fact we had to cut our session short because she had gotten a callback for The Sound of Music.  Rachael...best of luck on the part you are trying for.  I hope you enjoy your "sneak peek" at some of your photos.  You looked beautiful!

Courtney

This is Courtney and she was awesome to be with.  I was so happy to hear that she is going to be at Texas Tech next year!!!  And she loves being outdoors 4 wheeling, fishing or hunting, so she was easy to direct when it came time to get down on the ground and get dirty.  Who knew that getting your senior portraits taken could get you dirty? I've seen it all though...mud, dirt, cut grass stuck on clothing, poison oak(least favorite!!) bees (I was stung with one RIGHT when I was introducing myself to a mom and daughter last year), spiders, fire ants, cow maure....I could go on....  We haven't encountered a snake yet and hope that we never do.  The photos are beautiful and you never really see behind the scenes climbing over things to get to the spot, pulling spider webs off..

She has some great shots....here are just a few...she has a great smile but I am really drawn to her sweet serious look.....what do you think?  And, NO, I promise I did not do anything to her eyes...they really are that beautiful.

Ryan

This is Ryan.  I went out to his house for his senior portraits...they have a wonderful place. My favorite was an old barn that they have.  His mom said "it's kind of falling down"  and I said those are my favorite kind!  Anyway, always fun to be at a new location and Ryan did great.  I had a great time working with him....I find myself typing that a lot but I can't help it....I really love my job and feel so blessed to be able to do this!

Ryan, you had a great attitude...hope you enjoyed looking at a few.

Ashlyn

Ashlyn was so much fun to be around....she had that "we can go anywhere and do any kind of photos" attitude which is so much fun.  Oh, and it helps that she has so many different looks that she can pull off.  She can go from sweet serious, to full out smile, then laugh and back to her pensive look.  Her sister came with her to do her makeup and all of us plus her mom had a great time.  Funny story ~  when we went up to the truck that is posted here...I went to open it and Ashlyn was beside me...well, you never know what you are going to find inside an ancient truck like that.  When I opened the door, Ashlyn screamed and I screamed (the funny thing is I only screamed because she screamed, I hadn't seen anything yet)  It was a big black spider coming out of the door, but man it was funny.  I didn't know I had that kind of scream in me.....it was the horror flick kind of scream!

Anyway, here is a sampling from her session....sorry it took me so many days to get it up here.

Let me know what you think...

Wyatt

This is Wyatt, who is 2.  He had other things in mind that day rather than taking his 2 year old portrait....but so does every 2 year old, right?  It felt like we weren't getting too much, but I sure do love the couple that I am putting up here on the blog.  His big brother came along for some shots together.  I am posting one of him alone because he was so cute and sweet and he was helping me test my lights....but I think it is so cute.
